Relaxing for a few moments with friends after the Gordon Beach visit. Lochabar Beach has a huge blue hole, not as big as Dean's Blue Hole.
Love the beach umbrella made from found things!!

South Long Island
Pretty blue shutters on a classic Bahamian home. Third photo of a "Junkanoo" Bar on the roof, supposed to ward off evil spirits. Wall with conch shells. A few of the sights on the way to Gordon's Beach.
Goats near Grey's Plantation
Thursday, February 23 2012, on our shopping, Happy hour day we drove up a side road came upon this huge herd of goats, near the ruins of Grey's Plantation on the Atlantic side. The man was giving them grain.
It was getting late, so we decided to save exploring Grey for another day.

Palm Chair
My latest project, found the metal chair at the dump, clipped some palm fronds from the yard, started wrapping the chair with the fronds. I have a very crude seat for it. Not sure where to go with this - (back to the dump??)

Everglades - Anhinga
These birds dive - they stay under for a long time, once they emerge from the water they have to dry out their wings before they can fly. So it is dive, eat catch of the day, dry out the wings, fly to the next spot!
Everglades National Park
This part of the Everglades is very close to Florida City. Photos from
Royal Palm - Anhinga Trail, birds and alligators every where. If this alligator gets much bigger it will have to find different lodging.

Islamaroda Key - Pelicans
Outside the Bass Pro shop is a fish cleaning station on the dock. These beggars were waiting for handouts. Big brawls broke out over who got the fish guts. A couple of nurse sharks and tarpons were cruising the water, but they didn't stand a chance, the pelicans never let anything fall to the water.
