Gamblin' & Gold

That's how Chris celebrated his birthday. Andi took him to her scenic gold panning on Clear Creek under the highway in Denver. Last time we were there the coroner was removing a body.
After that, we headed back home, stopped in Black Hawk for dinner and gambling at the Tobasco Slot machine. It was a full day of FUN!

Lump Gulch Hike

Had to scramble over some pretty significant boulders and leap across a crevasse, but we made it to the river, just a few scratches.

South Boulder Creek

A little evening walk along the river, evil Fishing Club warning. Weather has a nip in the air, hoping it holds off turning any colder until after we leave. Was down in the low 40's the other night.

Rollinsville Independence Day

They celebrate their Independence from Mr. Rollins, the mean guy who founded the town and wouldn't allow any fun. Once they got rid of him they had dance halls, saloons and "heck" raising.

Hessie Trail Waterfalls

We had a goof off morning since our "Deck Leader" was gone!! Hiked up the Hessie Trail past these beautiful waterfalls. There are numerous mining claims scattered all over the steep mountain sides.

Hessie Trail

We explored this old cabin on the way to the waterfalls, near Eldora. Upstairs in cabin looked like it could collapse at any moment.

Plastic Men

They didn't anticipate which way the shavings would fly when they were cutting the decking......looks like brown worms all over them.

Home Depot Run & Fun

Andi's new gloves for washing the balusters, watching the greedy humming birds, Jeff checking out the deck.

Animal House Deck Under Construction

Harnessed up and ready to go! Andi relaxes for a second prior to getting the balusters ready.

JoEllen & John Henry

We were spoiled for a couple of days at our friend's home in Maryville, Tennessee. Wednesday morning we took off for Eureka, Missouri.
This is JoEllen in front of a wildebeest at an antique shop. I shrieked out loud at this silly dinosaur stationed at the front of the store. Hadn't noticed it, but it let out a roar and caught me off guard.

Stone Mountain North Carolina

Lexi scooped us up at the airport around 9:30 AM on Friday, July 31. Then on Saturday we drove for a hike up Stone Mountain.
Loved Lexi and Kevin's new home, forgot to take snaps. Monday, August 3, we headed to Knoxville.

Stone Mountain

We're back!! Made it to Newark, our flight to North Carolina was cancelled due to storms. Spent the night at Wyndham Airport Hotel.
