Grey's Rock Hike

Went to Old Grey's area. This has to be the junkiest beach (rocks) ever. Have no clue why there is so much junk there. We found some nice aluminum floats and a colorful buoy. Followed up with stop at Forest 2 for food and drinks, Always delicious.

Shell Mirror

> Lots of screaming, cussing and sore neck goes into one of these mirrors, along with around 5 lbs. of hot glue and 50 lbs. of shells. A blood curdling scream and profanity "Oh My Heck" occurs when the hot glue hits your fingers instead of the shell. I have some good blisters to show for my work. I'll bet terrorists have been using hot glue guns for ages.
> Well it is more or less done. It's sitting on a table in the guest room. Used up so many shells, must go shelling......

Goats Day Out

We were trying to find our way to Cabbage Point and encountered this herd of Goats - they were really forward. When I got out of the car they started to charge me. Then I had to slowly back up the car and they came running after us. Thought I would never shake them. They were very healthy, adorable goats.

Sheep Day Out

Goats strolling the beach at Gordon's and along the road in Clarence Town.

Miss Shirley is Going Down

Wanted to try my luck shelling at Gordon's - low and behold we witnessed the poor skeleton of Miss Shirley barely visible in the water. The recent rough seas took its toll, the numerous parts are all over the beach, making it treacherous to stroll, nails sticking out of huge boards, all kinds of junk.
Shelling was lousy, but it was still a beautiful day.

Did Somebody Lose a Clear Glass Ball?

Look what Chris found, cleverly hidden under some bushes. This one was in the crook of the beach, washed up and stuck in the dirt, lord knows for how long. Chris swears we have probably walked by it numerous times. Sadly, it has a crack and a few chips. Never the less, it's a lovely addition to the Kierst Collection. After the hike we had a great relaxing soak at the beach. Chris found a huge length of net, conveniently located near the car. He plans on incorporating it into his passion fruit arbor.
Today looks like another monsoon, we were lucky it never rained on us yesterday during our hike. We were out almost five hours. Our front porch is soaked right now, had to push the furniture back from the screens. That's one nice thing about having Bahamian Crafted Vintage furniture, you don't get too worried about ruining it, simply adds more character to it.

Rocky Coast - Rusty Castles

The rocks are razor sharp in all sizes along the coast in this stretch. I spied this beautiful, little, mysterious vignette in the rocks. It reminded me of Cappadochia in Turkey. You expect little gnomes to peak out of the windows in the spires. Some rusty grate leached into the rock, giving it a beautiful rich color.
It was overcast all day long, never really saw the sun. Our clothes were drenched in sweat, I couldn't even find a dry patch of cloth to wipe off my glasses. I had on a bandana sweat band. Mosquitoes were pretty intense if you strayed away from the water into the bush.

Four Gray Cottages Beach

This mini resort is down in Morrisville. Another "Lost Bahamian Dream", at least someone is trying to keep it up. I peaked in the window and the table was set, quite stylishly, for four people. It might be a while before they turn up. We've to this place several times and have never seen anyone. The setting is very nice and the beach is great.

Day at the Spit

Did extreme snorkel - distance that is. Water so nice, weren't that many fish to see, but still one one of the most beautiful spots on Long Island. Since the road is so bad never saw anyone.

Stella Maris - Day Out

Headed north for groceries, car stuff and lunch at Moonshine. Was good day, liked the new signs posted. Noticed a real chill when we left the Tropics.

Passion ...........Fruit

We brown thumbs are trying our best to spruce up the yard around here. The horribly invasive passion fruit vine was strangling out my pathetic container garden. I finally convinced Chris to back away from the Internet and put up an arbor and let the vine grow on that. Well, at least we have four poles sticking up, hopefully the rest of the structure will come together soon. While yanking the vines off the palm trees I found two dried out passion fruit and one unripe fruit still attached to the vine. A miracle.
My citrus is doing pretty good. Not sure what it is, maybe lime. Lexi's lime tree is coming along. A coconut palm Terry planted is doing very well.

While pulling dead stuff off a palm, a scorpion ran up my leg - yikes. That put an end to my gardening today. I had already sweated out at least 5 gallons. I grabbed my trusty inner tube and headed to the water. I must of floated for two hours, I am easily entertained. Chris joined me for a bit. Really huge waves. There are tons of turtles in "Turtle Cove" I watched a nice sized one swim about.

Outer Edge Grill

After a few hours hiking were glad for dinner at the Outer Edge. There were a few boats that checked in.
