The Wrong Long Island

Took the subway and shuttle bus to Coney Island. Did not go in the water. Lexi told us they price the good rides separately, costs $9 to ride the Cyclone. She and Kevin celebrated her birthday here.

Coney Island

Most everything was shut down. Very cold and windy day, sun peeked through a few times.

Coney Island

Best part was a hot dog at Nathan's.

Happy Thanksgiving - 2014

The twins are captured by their daddies, we had one new participant, Louie, who took the photo, otherwise same cast as last year. The twins added real liveliness to the event. Everyone had takeout to enjoy later. What a feast.
Claire, Lexi and I went Black Thursday shopping, I restrained myself, Claire however bought her Christmas tree. Talked her into staying over, since it was a long way via subway with all her purchases.

Thanksgiving Recreation

Need to check last year's photo, see if we have on the same clothes!
Sweet little Lily with her daddy, Nolan is a blur in the background, never could catch them at the same time.

Dog Flower Shoppers - Kitty Inspector

Saw these cute dogs shopping for flowers, love the plaid rain coat, really helped. Lulu inspects the new painting I created and the flower arrangements. Believe she approves.
Weird sweet potato, started Thanksgiving goodies around 8:30 this morning - did a lot of preparation yesterday. Not only did we run into Manhattan early for flowers and turkey, we returned to catch dinner and a play in the evening. Saw "Once" it was wonderful - music fabulous. Going home on the subway people were taking a picture of a very bold rat that appeared fearless, right next to people on the platform.....

Flower Market NYC

NYC Flower Market

Went in search of Thanksgiving Day flowers, of course it was raining. Kept hoping it would snow instead. The variety of flowers and greenery was amazing. Also picked up a turkey at Union Square Farmers Market that she ordered a while back. Lexi selected a Broad Breasted Bronze, 20 pounder. She put it in her back pack for its journey home on the subway.

Brooklyn Bonsai

Some of these trees were 200 years old.

Lily Pond & Orchids

Brooklyn Desert

Now this was my kind of climate, wanted to stay here.

Brooklyn Botanical

The tree house was constructed from Hurricane Sandy wreckage.
