Back to Hotel Espana

This was the rooftop dining area, more inside shots, last photo of our room.

Hostal El Patio & Hare Krishna

Moved from Centro Lima to Miraflores. Centro had all the history, this area has the fancy stores and restaurants.
Love our latest hotel, beautiful gardens, we're on the top floor. Too bad we leave so early.

Astrid & Gaston's Restaurant

We splurged on a late lunch at this place, mucho soles. I had Crab Ravioli, Chris the beef ribs, the bright colored box had little drawers with delicious sweets they served after the dinner. Wall with pottery sticking out of it. Believe this restaurant was frequented by the wealthy shaker and movers of Lima, we sneaked in.

Museum Larco

Larco - Monster Cactus - Bougainvillea

Garden area around museum

Storage - Not Like Ours

Several huge rooms of stored items. One of the few museums that allows you to browse through the pots that didn't make it to the big time display.

Museum dog

One of those hairless kind, the museum guard rubbed her down with lotion. She had a few scraggly hairs on her head, I petted her, but didn't quite feel right....

Hostel Espana

Below is the Friendly guy (David) who greeted us. The hotel is over 300 years old, exquisite tiles, parquet flooring, incredible wood paneling, sculptures and art work. The downside is the infrastructure shows it. Hot water is iffy, plumbing is........quaint? The rooms all face the inner stair well, so there are no windows, just fret work type openings, weak light filters in from the top sky light. Believe our room was recently painted, probably in the last 100 years, so there's a strong smell of paint, but you kind of get used to it.

Resident Peacock

He goes wherever he feels like, his favorite perch is viewing the roof top of cathedral San Francisco. Caught him inside on the railings. We dined on the rooftop - this is probably the loveliest place I have seen in a long time.

Lima - walk about

Lima - City of Kings

Sitting at Peru Gourmet restaurant, mine was very delicious!!
Tomorrow another museum near Miraflores. Hit the San Francisco cathedral today, took the tour (had the catacombs) very beautiful.
What is horrible about Lima is the cold, polluted weather, as bad as Vietnam. It is rather cool and moist, at least our fanny packs are hidden by our garb. Can feel the bronchitis coming on, have the sniffles!!
Architecture here is amazing, everywhere you look is another architectural masterpiece. We had a glimpse of the mountains, but the pollution obscured a clear view.
Lots of police hanging around all the plazas, wonder if they will assist the robbers or us if the bad guys grab us!!

Pots

Cute dog couple, last photo.
