Another Fun Fishing Trip

The guys had a great time, the real show occurred when they cleaned the fish at the dock. They fed the scraps to some feisty sharks.

Big Rock Beach & Cottage

The huge rock provided an interesting pool to snorkel in. A large barracuda made sure we knew it belonged to him.
My friend in front of her charming peach cottage.

Pretty Plants

Red seeds are from the cardboard plant.

Long Island Legion Death March

What happens when six people go looking for these glass and metal balls? Dehydration, heat stroke and unbelievable leg cramps. We hiked around six miles on mostly rock, very little sand, on the Atlantic side looking for these elusive balls.
We started around 9 AM, ended at nearly 5 PM. The most grueling part of the hike was scaling a rocky cliff, then cutting through the bush, which included poison wood and sea grapes. The brush was over our heads and extremely thick.
Only one glass ball was found, numerous metal ones. The majority of the metal ones were left behind, once the fatigue set in, no strength left to carry them.

Creative Long Islanders

Marina and Denis - wonderful artists, such a charming couple. Denis built the kiln himself. Visiting them was like a step into an Agatha Christie novel. Denis is from the UK, Marina is an authentic Bahamian with French roots, the d' Darville family. They have an unbelievable collections of shells, antique bottles and wonderful art work.
