Mexican Fiesta
Great get together at Marcia & Rick's place. Hadn't seen Donny in maybe 40 years, she looked fabulous. Marcia, Rick, Emily, Katie, Blake, Karli, Jeff C., Donny, Chris, Andi, Jeff M., Lexi, Kevin and me.

Christmas Spoon Game
Once a person list a round of spoons they could chose their punishment, two minutes in shorts standing outside in the snow or a tablespoon of some horrible concoction, Andi and Jeff took the snow, we other three took the food. Mine had fish sauce, tons of spice, passion fruit liquor, chunk of butter and other mysterious stuff. Kevin was the champion.
Christmas Day Hike
After getting the car stuck really deep at Lump Gulch, a kind Samaritan pulled us out, we headed to Pinecliff that had a nice flat parking area. Walked along the rail road tracks to the creek.
Christmas Morning
One of my highlights was a gorgeous Guinness ball cap, complete with built in opener. Chris bought the cap at an Irish shop in St. Charles, with a cranky owner. Andi received three copper tea kettles. Santa was very generous to all of us!
Moffat Tunnel
Drove over to check it out for Cross country skiing. Not good, no sun and almost 10 degrees colder than Rolly.

Cross Country Skiing
Well, finally got some decent snow. Took a very short ski run on the road, was exhausted for the rest of the day!
Christmas Tree & Snow
Made "A Wreath Franklin" (from DIY Utube), we decorated the tree, the snow came right on schedule. Have to admit it is quite lovely.
Lexi, don't worry about decorating the tree, we saved plenty of ornaments for you and Kevin to squeeze in.

Carousel of Happiness - Nederland
The carousel frame came from Saltaire in Salt Lake City, around 1956. Went into Ned for hot water heating elements and Andi had to replenish books at the Carousal and Blue Owl. Jeff has the hot water heating again. The snow started up yesterday, beginning to accumulate. Think I 'll go cross country skiing.

Fire in the Sky
OK John Denver - what an amazing sight! Made me get out of bed early to see this beautiful sunrise. Definitely a Rocky Mountain High.

Let the Christmas Decorating Begin!
May wait until the girls show up! Have been looking all over for the Crèche and dough ornaments, found them at last! The dough ornaments date back to my Moab 70's days. I actually made a couple hundred to sell in Grand Junction. All ornaments are in great shape, just a few minor broken limbs and such. Grandpop Kierst made the Crèche. We have a lot of extra wise guys and animals, but in the past we loaded all in, who cares.
Sun in Rollinsville
Yipeeeeeeeeee - I'm a happy camper, there's beautiful sun this morning. After a white knuckle drive out of Kansas into Eastern Colorado we stopped at Burlington Colorado, no lie, there were at least 10 semis off the road and numerous other vehicles. The next day we motored on to Rollinsville with no problem. Chris brought up the systems in the house, we have hot water! There's not much snow around here.
Next day we went into Boulder, then Spent the night with Marcia and Rick, had fun catching up on the latest. Plus a fun Christmas party.
The Christmas tree dilemma was a bit of a challenge. Andi refused my kind offer of "Fire Mitigation" on their property, taking down a tree, so that wasn't an option. Then we decided to check on a permit, they closed those down. Looked at a couple of lots with $100+ prices, beautiful trees, but too expensive for us. Finally found a decent affordable tree at Home Depot of all places. Tree is resting on the deck waiting to be trimmed so it can fit in the tree stand.

Edible Christmas Trees
Becky made these adorable Christmas trees out of marshmallow, rice krispies, chocolate Reeses for the trunks and miscellaneous decorations. Forgot to post Old Spaghetti Factory photo.
Green Valley - Eureka
Spent a couple of weeks visiting and had a very lively time - these guys keep you hopping. Winter is here, loved walking around J&T's place observing all the beautiful natural winders. Love the creek.
