Isle of Skye - Folk Club

This was one of the highlights of our Scottish trip. Our B&B host makes bagpipes and when we asked about music in the area they said there was a Folk Music event at 8 in Breakish, small village on Skye. After finding a much needed laudromat and a delicious hurried dinner we made it to the Village Hall. The musicians were seated in a circle with various instruments at their side. These people had as many as three instruments with them, violins, accordions, flutes, guitars, mandolins, pipes, bagpipes, harmonica, banjo, some ancient Harpar and other stuff. There was no set program, simply as the spirit moved them. Several men and a very young girl sang solos acapella, totally composed, no inhibitions. The music was amazing, so beautiful. They also asked people to join in for a folk dance, once again, totally impromptu, so much fun! Musicians continued to stream in, lasted until 11.

One of the young organizers greeted us when we came in and asked if we would like tea or coffee, they had a little break and offered more tea and cakes, just wonderful. Was raining, of course, was a little nervous driving back to our B&B, but not much traffic.
Fogged in this morning, but it us called the Misty Isles.
