We made our own tour around the Maule Valley. Came upon this rodeo, bought tickets and went in. No roping was involved in this event - it was strictly two horsemen, and a sturdy calf. They had to control the calf with their horses. The horse was trained to use its chest to herd the calf. They had to circle a small pen twice, with the calf pushed up against the pen, then a gate was opened and they had to control the animal around a larger corral. If the calf slipped back into the smaller pen they had to start all over.
