We had a hard time getting started - had serious bus-lag. Had missed the guided tours outside of Bano. We were going to take a taxi, then saw a bus headed to Puyo, which is the gateway to the jungle. So we decided to hop the bus and head out. The road followed the river through a deep gorge, jaw-dropping scenery, all this for only 80 cents. We got off the bus at Rio Verde, a nice lady motioned the way to the path to the falls. Turned out that each side of the river had different views of the falls. The first side we visited had an enormous fall that plunged into a turquoise blue lagoon. We followed the path to a swinging bridge that took us to a lower viewing area. After visiting this side we went back up to the road, crossed the river then took the other path.
