Compass Point - Nassau

Took an early flight to Nassau. Didn't know there was a time change, so was surprised when we received a phone call at home from Southern Air telling us that if we hurried we could make the plane. Not knowing about the time change we were rather annoyed that they wanted us there so early. We threw our stuff in the car, didn't have a chance for the additional OCD items (checking the back door, turning off coffee pot, lights, router) then blasted off for the airport. Of course the plane was 40 minutes late. Once at the airport we found out about the time change. Arrived at Nassau with no problems.
Well, it was a fine day so we decided to hike to Orange Hill, figured it was only a little over 3 miles. The scariest thing is the traffic. We made it through the roundabouts with no problems. Our room Wasn't ready so we dropped off our backpacks and headed to Compass Point to explore and have lunch, We took a jitney. Compass Point was a happening place, charming restaurant, brightly painted cottages and nice beach. Those buff guys in the hot tub had helmets on playing some kind of water polo???
After some hamburgers and beers we started down the beach headed to the Lyford Cay. We just started walking, felt like Forrest Gump.....no telling how long the walk would last, but since New Providence is only 21 miles long and 7 miles wide it couldn't be too bad.
It was very interesting, after the condos petered out the private homes took over. Many of the places looked rather beat up, guess one too many hurricanes and no repairs.
